The Biography of Late Elder Josiah Enwusonye Agbaraka -Worgu
 
 
 

Later Elder Josiah Enwusonye Agbaraka-Worgu was born on the 20th of August, 1915 to the happy family of Elder Agbaraka Nworanyaku Worgu and Late (Mrs). Enda Ojogoro Wobidih of blessed memeories from Rumuokworusi Town in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.

Education: Late Josiah E. Agbaraka Worgu did not receive western education, this was due to the death of his late father before his birth, so the mother has to take the bull by the horn by training her childeren in Ikwere costume and traditon. But despite the formal western educatin which he did not aquire, God gave him wisdom which he utilized very well to the extent that his peers who were opportune to have the western education always rally around him for counselling and advice.

Job Experience: The Late Elder Josiah E. A. Worgu was hard working and that gave him an employment with the Coastain West African Limited in the year 1948-1952. He also worked with the Nigerian Railway as a causal labourer. Late Elder Josiah E. A. Worgu was one of the pioneer causal workers that cleared the present site where the oil gaint, Shell British Petroleum Company is having their residential area today in Rumuokwurusi. Late Elder Josiah E. A. Worgu during his youth served under many family elders in Rumuworgu, and he was admonished by these elders because of his honesty, looyalty, obedient, dedication and trasparency. Owing to those qualities and wisdom he was brought into the elder forum during critical moment of decision making in Rumuworgu family, Rumuchiorlu community and Rumuokwurusi in general.

Social Life: Late Elder Joisah E. A. Worgu was a member of many Social and cultural organization, and not only as a member he also played a very prominent role in therse organizations. Organisation such as ogbor-olu dance club, Eregbu Rumuchiorlu dancing group, Egelege Rumchiorlu and Rumuokwurusi in general that is wresting organisation which he spent his

money to buy animal skin that was used for the weresting drums immediately after the Nigerian civil War in 1970. He was also a member of Oboni Rumuchiorlu where he was the lead singer and dancer. Elder Josiah is the founding father of Ikwu-Chiorlu meeting in Rumuchiorlu.

Elder Josiah E. A. Worgu was happily married to Late (Mrs.) Hossanah E. A. Worgu (nee Amadi) from Elelenwo in Rumueheleze Community and Late (Mrs.) Racheal Nnena Agaraka-Worgu (Nee Ahaiwe) and was blessed with twelve children, Grand-Children and Great Grand Children.
